No two pieces are the same, as using recycled glass I never find two shards that are identical. The various themes of The Cosmos, The Sea, Life and Death, Memory and Old Age  as well as women’s issues are recurrent throughout my work. The concepts ebb and flow between what happens in the kiln and ideas in my mind. The nature of the glass with its fragility and strength, brokenness and the completely new life of the material created in the kiln are key to the concepts expressed. The glass is collaged and patch-worked, laminated and bolted together like memories overlapping, fragments of life and faded images coming and going. Often many firings and trials can go into each piece of work and pieces and found objects are present for years before they find their true connection.

As well as glass I still use printmaking and photographic techniques on glass, paper and textiles depending on what the concept calls for.
